 August 7, 2007 Dear Fans, This past weekend was an amazing time for baseball. Congratulations to Alex Rodriguez for hitting his 500th home run and Tom Glavine on his 300th career win. Alex and Tom are fellow ballplayers who have my respect and I tip my hat to their significant achievements. On Saturday night, after 21 years in the big leagues, I was blessed to hit my 755th home run in San Diego. I want to thank the Padre fans and players for demonstrating real class leading up to and immediately following the moment. It was a memorable night and I'm honored to match the career home run record as I have immense respect for Hank Aaron and his contributions to the game.
