July 27, 2007 Dear Fans: Yesterday was Giants Family Photo Day and softball game. After taking family pictures all the kids played in a whiffleball game. I got a kick out of pitching to the kids and seeing how much fun they had running the bases. Below are a couple of photos from the day. This weekend two great former ball players will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken, Jr. Without a doubt they both deserve this honor having had long and very successful careers. Each have made their mark on the game and so many of us players truly respect what they did both on and off the field. Congratulations Cal and Tony! Next week our team will be on the road when we play in Los Angeles and San Diego. We play the Dodgers and the Padres each in a three game series, then head back home for a seven game home stand.
