April 5th, 2007 Dear Fans, Opening Day was unlike any in the past. Before the game, to celebrate the All-Star Game being held at AT & T Park this year, the Giants invited former San Francisco All-Stars to be recognized during a pre-game ceremony. It was an honor to be introduced with Willie and escort him out to the pitchers mound to join the other All-Stars, including several guys my dad and I played with, many whom I haven’t seen in years. We played to a sell out crowd and definitely felt the fans’ energy. We came out, worked hard and were ready to play, but the Padres pitched and played a great game. Now, I’m focusing on getting back into my routine – working out in the morning, going to the ballpark and getting my legs massaged out at night. Yesterday, after batting practice I had the opportunity to surprise my good friend Larry King by making a live satellite appearance on his show, congratulating him on his 50th anniversary in broadcasting. Then, pre-game Wednesday night, there was a ceremony honoring Harmon Burns. Harmon was a great friend and so many of us miss his presence at the ballpark. 2007 is going to be a great season. I look forward to working hard with my teammates, having fun and enjoying every day of it. Until next time, Barry Bonds P.S. Before batting practice on Opening Day I spoke to the press for about five minutes in the dugout. If you want to listen, click here. After hitting home run No. 735 I spent a little time with the press as well. Click here to listen.
